As art teacher at BHIEC for many years I have had the pleasure of sharing the experiences of these students as they transition from one culture to another. In these photographic works I have tried to challenge our preconceptions about people and place by juxtaposing the often visually exotic appearance of these young people with the new and, to them, exotic environment in which they now live.
